Oil canisters in Cat 3176

Does anyone know what the two oil canisters are in the engine compartment of a Cat 3176.

Bob,

So, you guys have a '95 U300.

You have a different engine, but if engine bay is set up like ours, you may be referring to the reservoirs for the two hydraulic systems.

Standing at engine compartment facing engine, on my left is a black tank with a dip stick.  It holds oil for engine cooling fan pump and motors.

Looking just to the right of center, there is another tank with dip stick.  It is the oil tank for the power steering system.

On my coach, both systems use motor oil.  I use Shell Rotella T4 15W-40...same as I use in our big engine and genny.

We just bought a different one. This one is a 1995 U300 with the cat 3176. It was on EBay and was a repossession so there are no manuals. I don't remember how to post a picture

Yup, power steering is the smaller one and hydraulic fans the larger one.  There are filters inside.

Common fluid (there should be a label on the reservoirs) is Delo 400 15-40.
