Microwave/convection in 1995 U300

The carousel in our U300 microwave doesn't turn. Does anyone know if these can be repaired and if not, has anyone replaced their microwave?

Thanks, Susan

...has anyone replaced their microwave?
Most Forum members, if they have any interest in using the microwave, eventually replace it with a more modern model.  There are replacements available that are a direct exact size fit in the space left when old one is removed.

Search the Forum for many examples of "replacing appliance" threads.  Lots of good ideas!

Thank you. Replacing it sounds like a good idea.

I just replaced the microwave in our coach. Found a 1year old convection unit on Craigslist for $150. Stainless steel and more powerful. Took a little less than an hour to install and fits the space perfect. If you stay with the same brand you may not even have to change the mount. Lots of screws (72) if you change brands, but not hard.

If you replace the micro/convection oven be aware that some ovens require a little more space between the micro door hinge and the divider wall next to the micro.

Almost all parts in the microwave can be replaced. From the micro switches to the microwave unit itself to power supply. Course with that said if your microwave is pretty old you'd have to substitute and there is where you may come into some issues. And our home remodel we put in a Bosch 800 unit convection microwave oven. Take it from me never buy Bosch microwaves or appliances again That's a note to self! Quality on them has gone way downhill to the point where it's just not worth it anymore. I've had to replace the micro switches multiple times. But they are available. Many microwaves don't even have a turntable that turns so it's not an essential item. However it sounds to me like if you use the microwave a lot replace it. Just know that it's not something you have to do right away.

Replaced mine with another Sharp. You need the zero clearance door so it doesn't hit the cabinet. Very heavy item. I did it myself but got my son to hold it while I installed the new one.
