Have one custom made.. attachments are an issue for me.. I Do NOT like drilling holes unless absolutely necessary .. even then it takes me a while to do it.. makes me sad to make holes.. not sure why but it does.

I think secure attachments could be made using earth magnets on Vhb tape. That way. Removal would be easy and non marring, no holes in body. The magnets would be strong enough to hold. Think going to a shop that does convertible tops, would have access to a fabric that would be non marring and provide wear.

Simple it's just wrong.  Your not alone. There almost impossible to fix and holes crack in glass with few exceptions. I too hate drilling, cutting, repairing holes in fiberglass

With most users the 3M clear "bra" has. a better reputation.  Cleaning the vinyl can be as difficult as cleaning the plain fiberglass.  Most issues come from cleaning the clear 3M with improper material such as abrasive cleaner.

One major issue with the vinyl bra is if it gets wet below the vinyl, the heat from the sun will damage the paint. Along with clear plexiglass shields, vinyl is old tech, replaced by a superior product, the clear 3M film. Even on cars, the clear 3M has replaced the vinyl bra in most preferences.

Also the bra moves around and rubs the paint. Not so pretty when you take it off.

When we had our coach painted back in 2011 Justin recommended a painted on protection. Don't remember what it was called. Works great and still looks good 9 years later. A few rocks chips but I don't think there is anything that will hold up to a good sized rock at 65mph. You might want to call him and ask about it. (Justin paint shop FOT)

In these instances, the front end could use a lift  :))

I bought a big roll of 3m clear... plan is to get coach finished in Puerto Penasco  (paint).. Let it cure and then add the clear..Under the windshield only..Seems that is the area the rocks like to associate with... WIsh they made something for the windshield.. Its starting to look like a pirate with a patch on one side

ArmorCoat?  I believe that's the stuff they were applying in that timeframe.

ETA that's what was applied to the front cap of our 2003 back in 2012.  Cost was $2K back then (has likely gone up since that time)

That sounds right. Ours was one coach buck on top of the paint job. We may have gotten a break since we were buying a full body paint.
