Bad miter joints

When I took the curtains down to be cleaned and work on the heat pump thru-window piece, I noticed this. I looked over and THE SAME bad work was done! Notice the white tape (badly applied) to hide, what, cracks????  I would never blame blame Brett, OR the Mother Ship......very odd.

If you are 74, that puts you graduating high school around 1964.  You rv is 27 years old.  So in 1964 do you remember what the interior looked like on a 27 yr old car, say a 1937 whatever.  This kind of puts the age of our coaches in perspective.  They have been thru some twisting and movement, drying out, expansion, vinyl shrinkage, etc., along with age, I'm thinking what FT put out, considering, has held up amazingly well.

YUP, nothing more than vinyl shrinking over time.  The metal is absolutely square.

Damn Bob don't remind me!
I think Jack said it very well. When you look at the age of these coaches it's amazing that they hold up as well as they do. You all know that I'm going maniac on my corian countertops. that gives me a unique perspective to look at the underlying structure of what Foretravel did when they built the cabinetry. And so far I've been very impressed. Everything's been very tight.
Most of the issues in my coach have been from previous owners, and myself.
Just remember almost everything is fixable!

I will keep an eye out for any more shrinking; it's the taped-up cracks on both sides (at he SAME spot!)  that really concerns me. ???

my 93  280 had the same cracks on both sides, with the same tape.

You've got to hand it to who ever made that tape, it's good stuff. Same tape on our 88 GV.

Can someone else post a picture to put Mike's mine at ease?

Please think about how the inner upper fiberglass cap liner meets the lower part and the center sidewall of the coach.  Has to be a seam somewhere.

I might be wrong, but isn't that vinyl material available at most RV dealers?
Mike could go get some, install it, and then watch it shrink over the next 20+ years, just like it did.

Crack or seam?? Again, think how the upper inside fiberglass liner, lower inside liner and sidewall meet.

Yup looking at ours it the seam where the front cap meets the side wall like Brett said. That's the least of the worries on a old coach ^.^d
