RV Toilet Paper

I'm out of rv toilet paper. How bad is regular TP?

I see Amazon has rv toilet paper ...but dang, it's $3-4 a roll and promises delivery by June 2. The local Walmart doesn't have it.

Go into any big box store, grocery store, camping supply store, convenience store...whatever.  Look for the absolute cheapest TP they sell.  It will usually be single ply, see-through thin, and will fall apart at the first hint of moisture.  Buy it.  Same thing as RV grade wipe.

OR, look for one of the "specialty" brands listed below:

The Best Toilet Paper for Septics & Camping in 2019 (Biodegradable!)

Glad to be back in 2-ply land now.

I have only used regular toilet paper and never had a problem. Didn't know there was a special toilet paper for RV's until a few years ago.

What Chuck & Jeannie said. I've been using the cheapest Walmart has (Great Value) for 16 years and never had a problem with the tank or elsewhere.

Michael, its Angle Soft TP for us, 10 years now, no problem.  Empty black tank when it is 3/4 + full.  A third valve lets you back flush.

A long time magic potion ...
A gallon of warm water, 1/4 cup of Dawn and 1/2 cup of Calgon bath beads (your choice of scents) into the black tank after every empty.

We add A Bio-Pak (natural stuff not chemicals) in both tanks after every empty.  Really helps in the gray tank.

(2 pack) Calgon Ultra Moisturizing Bath Beads with Aloe & Vitamin E,...

Amazon.com: Walex BOI-11530 Bio-Pak Natural Holding Tank Deodorizer and...

Agree that any will do. And no need for any chemicals, just Dawn & Calgon.

I'm with Roger on regular TP 2 ply as well.  That is all we ever use!  No issues!

We have used Walgreen's house brand for years without any "issues"

Chemicals or not, that is the question. We just started adding natural Bio-Paks to the gray water a couple years ago. We think it makes a difference, at least the gray water is a bit greener (in color anyway).  Try some, if it doesn't seem to make any difference then quit using it.

Been using Charmin for 5 years. No problem. Add Chem pack at each dump. and Dawn liquid 2-3 times a year. All goes smooth. >:D

Charmin Ultra for us!  We love the plush stuff!  Been fulltiming for almost 7 years, and never had a problem.  Only happy bums here.  ^.^d

Direct gravity drop RV toilet straight down into black tank 2 ply is fine.

"Turbo Turd" that has to pump it sideways and then pump into black tank single ply much better bet.  Scott single ply works great.

Was in Sayulita MX two weeks before travel was shit down No paper products flushed into toilets. All restrooms have small trash bins next to toilet where you deposit all toilet paper.
Makes using the Kirkland toilet wipes an option. (Basically baby wipes). Surprisingly no Oder from this practice, we also had to do it at the house we rented.
FWIW, for 12 years I have used the Softest thickest stuff I can find in the store, no issues with black tank or valves. I do have 3rd valve and "backflush" black with grey water when I dump. Also usually wait to dump black when it is north of 50% filled.
Others will object, works for me
