Adhesive for water heater thermostat

The PO installed the hot stick system into my water heater so we could use park power to heat water, but placed it 1/2 way up the side of the tank.  This effectively limits the volume of water being heated (hot water rising and all).
I want to move the thermostat more to the bottom of the tank.
Anyone know of a fast setting, heat resistant glue I could use?
In restless dreams I walked alone.
Narrow streets of cobblestone.

I'd be tempted to use original JB Weld.

Moby,
The hot water will circulate around on it's own. I would leave it alone. You may be getting ready to take the lid off the can of worms. Look the other way 😁.
Find something else to do.

Every time I decide to fix something that isn't broken I regret it.
