Also can anyone let me know of a supplier of door hinges for my villa, I have to elimate the source of the rusty marks so they don't come back, and my door hinges could definitely do with replacing, I need someone that can supply and ship internationally thanks kev

For removing stubborn stains from gelcoat, I have used Bar Keepers Friend cleansers (both powder and soft liquid) with excellent results.

The "secret" key ingredient in BKF cleansers is oxalic acid.  When mixed with water, it removes stains with little or no scrubbing.

"Oxalic acid's main applications include cleaning or bleaching, especially for the removal of rust (iron complexing agent).  Bar Keepers Friend is an example of a household cleaner containing oxalic acid."

You can purchase oxalic acid powder by itself.  May also be used to remove stains.  I have never tried using this "pure" form of the chemical.

Chuck we use barkeepers friends for years in our home, never knowing that it would work for rust stains on the coach! Thanks for that advice. I have some on my first step. Haven't tackled them yet but that's coming up soon.
