Epoxy for Corian

I see that on my search of the forum. epoxy is the way to go for reattaching the bottom cabinet hinge screws on the stove cover. Yep, Forgot to secure it and it fell and pulled out the screws.

So is there any special type of epoxy? Or just your run of the mill 15 minute epoxy.

Don't know the exact answer cuz I've never tried to go hinges on corian, but whenever you want to use epoxy to glue something together it's always recommended to use a thickened epoxy. I've glued many items together using West systems epoxy thickened with colloidal thickener. But that would get expensive to just glue on a couple hinges. A lot of people here swear by JB weld. Maybe try that.

Thanks for the hint. Glad to hear that the J-B weld worked for you T-Man. I'll give that a go.

Looked up the special Corian joint adhesive, $50 and it's 250ML That's a lot and way to much for three small screw holes.

I just used a little Gorilla glue and tapped the inserts back in. Not much don't get it in the threads. Been holding for a year.

My screws were directly in the Corian. No inserts. Maybe that's why it blew out. I might need to go to HD and checkout an insert and machine screw to replace the wood screw.

I use West System epoxy and I use G flex epoxy and also use with the 406 powder mixed with it. I like the G flex as it mixes 1 to 1
so it is really easy to mix any amount. There is a lot of difference in different epoxy. Where I buy my epoxy and fiber glass they
say the G Flex is the strongest they sell. They also told me that JB weld works really well.

JB works great. I would use the slow set on something like that.

Inserts might be better.
