AquaHot at elevation.

I recently had  what I believe is an unusual event. While camping at an elevation of 8700 feet, the fridge would shut off whenever we turned on the AH. The outside temps were between 31F and 38F. When the temps rose to 40 degrees and above we could turn the refrigerator on and it would keep running. I have the original Dometic fridge. The AH was running on diesel and we were dry camping. Any ideas?

Was your propane tank near empty?  I believe that if it is near empty (say under or near 1/4) and it gets cold, the liquid propane can't vaporize fast enough to maintain pressure and run propane appliances.

The only connection between your using the Aqua Hot and your refrigerator would be if the voltage was dropping and causing the problem. They are completely independent of each other.

The only common element between the AH and the LP Refrigerator is 12v.  Was your battery voltage low?

Three new AGM batteries less than 1 week old. Propane tank around 3/8 full.
