Roof air?? Recommendations for something quiet ??

Just spent a week at Buckhorn, (Kerrville, Tex) came to a decision, break a rule,
Rule 1,  Ain't broke, don't fix it.
Our front AC sounds like a helicopter.  Is about to land on the roof, a little exaggeration.

Thus any one have a thought on a cheap fix?? For the apparent original AC on our 99 295, given the age, we are probably not far from having to replace it any way.
The above being said, who has replaced one or both with something new that was 🤫 quiet?  So quiet they said should have done that years ago.
WHAT WAS IT,
not a believer in using the AC as a heater so either method, (strip or reverse) is not important.

Thx in advance,

First look at squirrel cage on the motor. Lots of time the noise can be attributed to out of balance due to mud daubers or insulation stuck in fins.

Also check the rubber compressor bushings. With the age of your coach those could be suspect.  As a get by you can cut 3 sections of heater hose about 1 &  1/2" long. Take these and put under the feet of the compressor.

I had the same problem plus a vibration. The coach was humming.  :)) I was about to replace them when MOT took a look. A small piece of foam insulation had broken off from somewhere and was in the squirrel cage fan blade. Easy fix, huge improvement.

It is still noisier than the pre-'Dometic Atwood Air Commands but the difference after service was huge.

The Atwood air commands are very quiet, they run continually however. No more adjusting the volume of the TV as the AC kicks on and off!
