Door Latch 1989 GV

I have read through many threads on door latches and tried a few fixes suggested but my latch will not engage the post at night. The post is tight and not loose. During the day the door closes. I drove from FL to MI last month but the issue did not start until last week. I'm wondering if it has to do with cooler weather at night making something smaller but I'm completely stumped.

Any suggestions?

First of all---LUBE the latch hardware.
Second--try slamming the door--HARD.
If that works, then try adjusting the latch bolt in small increments.

Done all those things. I've always had to shut the door hard. So turning the latch bolt changes what? And would that mean I have to adjust it every time it's cool at night? In FL it was never cool at night when I was in the rig but I have to believe the cooler nights up here have something to do with it

I have found that how the coach "sits" or is leveled has influence on how the coach door closes.
Seems that one has to "play around" with the bolt position until the door latches completely and quietly. Real PITA!!
