Re: 1999 M11 Fuel/Water Separator Help

Could someone please school me on what I have to do to swap out the new fuel/water Separator filter? This will be the first time I physically am doing it myself. Last year MOT did it. I assume I will have to undo the bottom fitting and electrical plug then spin off??  What about the plastic cylinder next to it? Is there some type of maintenance required for this also? What is it and what function does it do?

Yes you just spin off the the bottom part and the filter. The plastic cylinder is a precleaner before the filter with a screen inside it.
If it is clean I don't do anything and if it is dirty it needs to be taken apart and cleaned. In my last coach I took it apart and clean
it and I remember it was tricky to get apart. Maybe someone will tell you how to get at it.

Thumb screw on top of the screen housing releases the screen. No need to remove if there is no junk visually in it. If you press the purge button the fuel running in will move any junk around. There are four o-rings of two sizes. Two of each top and bottom. I just purchased 50 each and will post numbers Below. Like 12 cents each and 15$ shipping. If you remove you can clean with soap and water. Just thoroughly dry before you install.
