Access to Onan Generator on 89 GV

I am having an issue with my generator and need access to the back ( inner) side. I assume it should slide out, but haven't figured that one out yet. Help?

If your coach is an Oshkosh Truck chassis I can help.
1. Remove the door--screws are underneath front lip of door on the hinge.
2. Remove muffler (again, from under the coach)
3. Back out large hex head safety bolt flush with gen inside wall. This bolt head is accessible from the rear of the front wheel well.
4. Disconnect ALL electrical connections, both 120V and 12V battery connections.
5. Disconnect all the wires coming from the generator to the junction box on the wall of the compartment. CAUTION!! LABEL ALL THE WIRES--BOTH SIDES OF THEIR CONNECTION!!
6. From underneath (again) look for two bolt heads (one on each end of the frame. Remove these bolts.
7. Slide/pull generator out horizontally. Have some means of supporting the entire assembly. (I used a cart I designed)
8. Once out check the bearing on the right end. If bad, pull brushes back and fasten so they stay back.
9. Matching Owen paint & brushes are available at a Cummins dealer.
10. The end bearing is available at any bearing supplier. NTN Corporation bearing #6205LLBC3/EM
11 Spark plugs and wires available at O'reilly's
12. The Onan generator is on its own frame, on the FT frame. Check the rubber isolation mounts. If bad--Cummins again.
If you still have the crappy, crumbling insulation, now is the time to replace it.

How's that? Close enough?

Mr. Nitehawk, thanks so much! I had looked it over and had noted pretty much everything you spelled out. Your directions are well detailed and very descriptive. Thanks so much. I have rheumatoid arthritis pretty bad, and its better for me now if I have a direction rather than hit and miss like when I was younger. Saves me a lot of work and wasted steps. I wanted to be sure there wasn't a really simple way that I didn't see. Thanks again!!!!!

PS- One more question,  when your coach is at ride height and you shut it down, does it stay close to ride height front and rear for a couple of days, or does the rear settle first, in about a day, and the front end last a day or so longer? Thanks again, and I  hope to be a help to you in the future......

Our coach has leaf springs so the level is what they "say".
Our leveling system is HWH swing down hydraulic jacks and they do stay at whatever I set them to.

Our coach has air bags and of course air brakes plus the HWH leveling system. The HWH stays where it is set, whether it auto levels or I do it manually.  Its just when I park and let it sit is when the air suspension  does as I described. Thanks again for your help....
