residential fridge

Hi we have 2000 U320 4210 with a Dometic refrigerator and it is now kaput just will not get cold. If we put in a residential fridge do we need to be concerned with our inverter running everything.

No simple YES/NO answer.

Depends on how much dry-camping you do.

Size and condition of your house battery bank.

What other draws the house batteries will have and for how long.

Other means of charging (generator, solar, frequent drives with alternator doing much of the recharging).

I believe with the new electronic fridges you need a pure sine inverter.

The pros and cons of installing a residential fridge have been discussed here ad nauseam.  Most every question has been asked and answered.

You will find the Forum search tool is a valuable resource when asking questions of this sort.  Try searching for the term "residential fridge" and you will get about 14 pages of hits.  Note that the results can be filtered in several ways to "customize" your search.

Quick answer There are no problems running your inverter full time, with the only limitation being your battery capacity.  If I run my inverter it will pull my batteries down within 24 hours or less.

Many people have installed a smaller pure sine wave 700 to 1000 watts to run just their residential fridge, which pulls less stand by power.
