Took a look see at motorhomes of Texas today

I figured since I'm in nacogdoches anyway I might as well go see what motorhomes of Texas has for sale right? I looked at what they had up on the board and I I walked around going into various coaches from four travels to prevo to a country coach. Some of those things are monsters and I wouldn't want to drive them some of them were beat pretty bad. one to smell when I went in was so bad of mold and mildew I had to turn around and walk back out again. Well there was some really nice looking coaches in the end I came away with the fact that I'm happy with what I have and have no need to upgrade. Sure my coach is in perfect but it's perfect for me right now. the few things that really bother me about it are being addressed one by one and while I'm sure there will always be things that need addressing that's fine with me. I was really interested to see what a slide would do for the interior volume both in and out, and I was happy to see that my choice of no slide was correct for me. Also I really don't like the way the newer coaches are set up. They look like they're built for movie stars or millionaires, or people that are not like me.
so not really sure where I'm going with this other than to say that if you're sitting there wondering about maybe upgrading your coach think long and hard before you put down your money and take a hit on yours. If it's little things that can be fixed or repaired or bigger things that could be upgraded do if it makes you happy. If you have to have the newest and the greatest in the latest then we're on a different category and you won't understand where I'm coming from and I certainly wouldn't understand where you are. I was told before I bought this coach of mine that the 96 is through 2000s or 2001 for the best coaches made. And whether or not that's true or not I don't know for sure but I know that my 1999 is the best coach for me at least right now.
I'm sure there'll be a lot of opinions about this post. Go ahead and let me have it. I'm a big boy. If you really do want to trade your coach in though I would go to motorhomes of Texas before I would go somewhere else except for selling it myself on these forums. They do seem like they have a good operation and there's not any junk there. you can drive a little ways down the road to find that if you want.

The best is the 93. No, wait a minute, it's the 95. Well, could be the 99 for sure. No, now I'm thinking it's the 97.

OH BOY-- here we go.

A popularity contest?

My choice was best?

OK, sold our 1993 with 170,000 miles all over the U.S., Canada and 50,000 miles all over Mexico.

So, guess it has to get my vote.  How could I vote from anything else???

We have four dogs right now, and I tell everyone every one that come up to me that he is the best dog.
Does neither bother me nor them.
So therefore when Michelle votes for 2003 he is absolutely correct

We were just at MOT and while there checked out a few rigs. Slim pickin's. Unless you wanted a real big something for $440,000 or so. There was a nice Country Coach for sale for $129,000 that caught my eye. Had 4 slides, though. I told Amy it would sell quick. Next day, PENDING. Things were quiet at MOT. Every time we walk into another coach, we say how lucky we were to find ours. First and Last one.

Did you look at the 1999 Foretravel U270 36' for $39,500?
They have sold a bunch of coaches this year. I have been there before and think they are a good place to do business. Unfortunately they didn't have anything we could get together on when I was looking.
I am spoiled I like my opposing slides especially in front.
Another place to keep an eye on if you are looking is NIRVC.

We make a trip to Nac about once a year to have a little work done but mostly goof off. Always look around the lot at what's for sale but never find anything we feel like should take the place of what we got.... I guess we're content.

Bill I did not look at the 99 u270 as I already have a 99 u320. I was looking at what ifs for replacement thinking newer, thinking better, and as I said I really didn't see anything that smack me in the face. But I do like motorhomes of Texas and while I think that the forums and previous owners are the best place to go first, motorhomes of Texas is definitely the next place after. Of course everybody's interests once and desires are different. somebody might have went into the coach that smelled like mildew and thought well I could get this hat for a song and put a little elbow grease into it and it would be okay, while somebody else wanted to go into a four slide and think maybe this will be big enough for me! As far as the what year and model is the best that's also very subjective, and we all know the ones that we drive now are the best for us! At least that's what I'm sticking to.

That is why threads like this are fun to follow. Everyone will want to tell us why his coach is the perfect coach. I thought every coach/camper I had was perfect all the way back to my 1960 VW bus with a bead in back. Well until I found the next one. ^.^d

Man, I though the same thing with my 1958 VW panel van with bed in back AND recliner in the middle.  Sure could go places a coach with more amenities can't go (like driving across the Rio Grande River in Big Bend)!

David Crosby and I both were thrown out of gym class in H.S. and had no choice but to take ROTC. Don't think either one of us ever went to many classes but he made it big and I didn't plus he had a really cute girlfriend. ;D  I think his song, Love The One You're With says it all for happy RV ownership. Our coach is undoubtedly the best coach ever made and we will park it if we ever get too old to drive.  ;D

The hybred 1995 Grand Villa has to be a contender for the best ever!
With the nose of the tried and true years old Grand Villa but the body and rear cap of the newer generation Unicoach ( side radiator, full access rear door ).  We love it.

Yup, at any consignment lot anywhere with any  brand coaches, there will be some GEMS and some to run away from.  Same as in storage lots, on the road, in CG's etc!

Too funny!! Been to Big Bend. Thought about swimming across to Mexico at the hot springs. Current was a little too strong. Would have LOVED to see a VW bus driving across.!!

Matt, don't give up as they say you kiss a lot of frogs before you fine the princess!!  when we had our sob coach we had gone to Houston for brother in law to get lung transplant.  While we were there (I had been looking at PPL inventory on line) we went to PPL to look at a Beaver, I really liked the floor plan and could deal with cat engine (not my favorite just me) but when DW opened the door to go inside the mold/mildew was so strong it would take your breath. So we kept looking-- we purchased ours from original owner about a year later in Alexandria Louisiana.  It has had some problems, but overall we really like the coach.  I have had to learn to keep my mouth shut--look at someone else's SOB that is nearly new and think there is no comparison to our FT.
