Seat belt ratchet

My shoulder belt on the driver seat is perfect, only locking on rapid extension, as in an accident.

The passenger shoulder belt is a nuisance, locking at random.

Is there a way to train it to work like the driver belt?

The Pawl is catching pre-maturely and engaging the teeth of the lock mechanism. See info

Hi Tom,

I have the exact same issue with my passenger seat. One thing I learned is that if you raise the seat back to more of an upright position it tends to work. I guess the cam system works better in upright position. Either way I think I'm going to have get it fixed. Let me know if you get yours resolved.

I thought it was designed that way, like the back seats in cars.

So with my extra time basically puttering around the coach I was looking at those darn over sensitive seat belts. my left seat wouldn't rotate and I found the cable off the lock on the base. With the seat now rotated so I'm looking at it straight on I realized that the shoulder harness buckles on both font seats were upside down. So if you just grab them you have to rotate to install buckle every time. 💡 lightbulb came on. So the belt goes over a guide at the top of the seat. I pulled the belt all the way out and rotated webbing the direction so it would be properly position and allowed it to retract past the guide that way. It worked perfectly and now it seems the belts retract/extend correctly. Took me seconds to do the second seat and it too also seems to work better. Was planning on leaving coach on the street and drive home tomorrow. Looking forward to my test drive. Both belt buckle ends now point up instead of handing under webbing when retracted.
