Sewer door mod: no-hang-down & critters out

Sewer door mod:  no-hang-down & critters out

We decided to make our hinged sewer door removable and to be more critter safe we modified the door for a snug fit around our shore power electric cable.

For driving we close off the shore power cable opening.  And when we dump tanks the door is removed to make room for the sewer hose.

First photo also shows our SmartPlug connector.

I'm possibly looking at this wrong so enlighten me if that's the case.  At least in our coach that is, if rodents do happen to get in the wet bay area there is no where else to go from there.
  I agree that I don't want them even in that area but it's much easier to seal off around the abs drain pipe preventing intrusion to anywhere else , than to attempt sealing around the sewer drain and the power cord and water line and cable tv cord as it exits the coach.      Seems there is so much effort to seal that trap door situation but I'm not seeing the benefit.

 I do keep a sticky trap in there so there not getting far anyway.  But maybe I'm missing something ??      Oh and by the way we don't have the stock hose reels so the wall separating the fresh water and dump valves is not  recessed.

I agree. I like leaving my Gray water open while hooked up traveling. I also have the sticky traps in the wet bay and all other bays including mouse poison bait throughout my bay's. When home in my garage I made something similar that the 50 amp power line only can fit through.
