Re: Door Bell Button Reply #1 – November 15, 2020, 12:31:27 pm Yes, quite a number of us have removed it.With size of hole, go into any box store and find a plug to fit the hole.The door bell mechanism can be a real fire hazard, as it works by the door bell button closing the circuit. Water getting into the button assembly can hold the magnet ON and hold it ON long enough that it overheats. Quote Selected

Especially for that 3:00 AM wake up call where you now have the opportunity to answer the door "Can't you read? Use the door bell." Quote Selected

I left the outside button in place in case I ever came up with another use for it. I found a nice placard online to place above the button: Quote Selected 8 Likes
