Entrance way upgrade!

I removed the carpet on the sides of our entrance way when I upgraded the flooring and just now got around to installing this ceramic tile.  Lots of cuts, but can be done using a 4 inch angle grinder with a diamond blade.  Just take your time and score the glass tile with blade and don't try and take deep cuts with it.  I did use epoxy grout for this job and you must move quickly.  I did not, since it was so difficult to apply the grout and had to use a 3m pad to assist in the removal of the excess.  Installed led lightning before I did the tile work and it really lights up the area and makes it safer to enter/exit at night.
I used a premixed mastic to apply the tile directly on the wood surface.  Just make sure it is clean and smooth.  Let set up for at least 2 days.  I have used this mastic on bath tiles and back splashes.

As for the lightning, I removed the small light that was located at the bottom left of our step and soldered wire's with shrink wrap and fed it into the edge of the door up the side for the led strip lightning.  Center switch turns on the lights for the steps.

I am curious. I have been trying to find the step coverings shown in your pictures. Brand. Nomenclature?
I think I might be able to redo our existing entry steps with something like that.
Our steps lift up and the crappy, blue shag carpeting acts as a seal on the sides, but the steps are also shag so I have rubber mats laying on top of them Not a safe proposition.

The easiest step covering is to grab some "Chiliwich" fabric off of eBay and remove the OEM step material and install the Chiliwitch

It is what the factory used for a few years in the IH - wears like iron, relatively easy to put in - I have had mine down for 5 years and looks like the day it was installed.

Looks great Joe!!!

The rubber flooring material is by Roppe.  Wears like iron and is a non slip.  You can order this online in multiple colors and sizes!

I like the big dot vinyl for the step area you step on with the 90 degree 1 inch edge and Tim's Chiliwich for the toe and side walls of the steps. Joe's step LED lighting also looks good.
