Clock in bedroom not lite up or working?

I know someone on this forum will know the answer. No clock showing up in bedroom overhead. I checked the switch and it is on and can't find any fuses for this. Any help would be most appreciated.

Not sure where fuse would be but the good news (maybe bad) is that the factory still puts them in new coaches.

Were you able to check to see whether it may have just accidentally been placed in the most dim setting?

There is no dim setting on this one that I can find. No fuse either!

Do you have power to it?

If not, there are some easy 12 VDC connections nearby.

Brett; all other functions work on the panel. Dock lights, lights under cabinets by bed, etc. Just no clock. Could it be a bulb? May have to open it up in the overhead cabinet. What do you think?

Mine quit working awhile back. FT did not have a replacement then. Maybe now. An Echo Dot Clock is much more useful to us. And likely much cheaper.

I don't think I have a dimmer on mine. I wish it did. It has an on off switch.

We picked up a small clock from Office Depot that projects time and temperature on the ceiling. Large enough that the DW and I can read what it says without having to put on our bifocals.
It also has a battery so I don't have to reset it every time we go off shore power and then return.
We like it so much that it is now used here in the house for the winter.

When I got my '99 FT a couple years ago that clock wasn't working. I opened up the panel and cleaned the contacts on the board with Deoxit and it has been working since. It was showing 12 volts before and not working.

IIRC there isn't a dimmer switch, but if you repeatedly push on a couple of buttons to the right one will brighten the display while the other dims it.

That is how ours works also. You can dim it down till you cant see any numbers.

Heck, our clock on the driver's side of the bed and the radio on the passenger side both work, and the coach is 31 years old!! Only problem is both of them are not in easily read locations. So we never use them.

Joe,

The breaker that is for the bedroom clock should be one of the breakers that is in the breaker panel that is behind the kick panel at the front door. Seems like that is the only thing on that breaker so the clock would be the only thing affected. Now I for sure don't remember off the top of my head as to which breaker out of the 60 or so it is.

Thanks Mike, that is one place I did not check. Will check that out in the morning! I know they have little reset switches, but memory serves me, there is only a couple in that kick panel that you can reset.
I tried the other switches to see if I could brighten up the display, no go on that as well.
Will post my findings!

It could be just a poor contact in the on / off led switch in the clock, switch it back and forth a few times and say a few choice words.

Joe,

I couldn't sleep so I pulled some prints on our coach and the bedroom clock is on breaker #53. It may have changed from our '97 to your "double ought" but worth looking there to start.

Thank you Mike for your help, will check it out when DW wakes up! lol Those prints are the one thing I am missing with all my paperwork I received with coach!

Joe,

You need to find the B-2198, B-2126, (both electrical) and the B-2208(air) that are for your coach. Those 3 are a must for any tinkering. Now somewhere around your era coach they swapped numbers on the 2198 (seems like they transposed 2 numbers when they upgraded prints and it may be 2189) but is the same print.

My clock didnt work when I bought the coach. I found the problem to be a poor ground. Upper left side ,at the rear in the storage area, above the bed, , there was a ground wire poorly secured to Aluminum tubing. I clean and applied a copper aluminum paste and it works great. A little work getting to the ground connections, but it solved the problem.

Update; pulled the kick panel up front and no #53. Most all of the junctions are on bus bars and there are no resettable fuses in there either. Waiting on a call back from Brad before I go any further. Sure do miss the days when I could call James direct and get all the answers I needed. That was worth the motorcade dues alone! UGH!
