Splendide combo W/D not drying and how to fix it

My Splendide combo washer dryer stopped drying and would give me a code 13 Drying NTC sensor open / short circuited. Fan motor blocked.  I could feel almost no air coming out of vent.  Took hose off and there was very little lint in hose.  Removed hose and could feel no lint out of vent exit on dryer.  Tried running without vent hose attached got same code again.  I did some searches online and in other forums and found this advice that worked like a charm:

The F13 code is very common and often can be fixed by performing a simple procedure (which was taught to me and others by the guys at Splendide).  Here's what you need to do:

1.  Start the unit without clothes and with the dry time off on cycle # 11. When the water stops entering the unit push and hold the start button until all the lights come on then release the button.  NOTE: If the water is not at least half way up the glass repeat this step (I find it always has to be repeated at least once).

2.  Move the cycle knob to cycle # 2 push the extra rinse button then press the start button once (do not hold) then let it run through that complete cycle.

Do this 3 times then try the dryer.

I now do this as preventative maintenance every month or two.

W/D now blows hot air out the back, and clothes are warm and dry when they come out, and I also will be preforming this every month or two.  Attached Splendide 2100/7100 repair manual in case someone needs it.

Thank you for sharing.  I plan to finally install a Splendid next month and expect a familiarization period.  I will certainly add this to my knowledge base.

Richard,  The key thing about the small size washers is they wash more than they can dry.  So, we wash two sheets and pillow cases but dry one sheet and pillow case at at time.

Dry time is about 30 minutes per sheet where over an hour for two sheets in the dryer at same time.  Better air circulation with one sheet is the secret.

we solved that problem by installing a 220v dryer above the washer dryer combo and I disabled the dryer function on Splendid
DW is much happier (we can't use with gen but only do clothes when in park anyway)

My combo 2100XC got slower and slower to dry.  I did the recommended cleaning steps.  Zero changes.
I ended up removing the top, and then the inside vent hose that fastens to the drum exit, and then up and out to the back of the machine.  It required removing 2 hose clamps, and then twisting and pulling the funny shaped flex hose out.  Inside the flex hose was almost a cup of lint.  Since doing this inside hose/vent cleaning, the unit has worked well.

Dan has some great suggestions as well

How did you run the 220v to the dryer?
