Fuel Tank Rubber Pads
Hi Everyone!
I am currently replacing the fuel lines on my 98' U320 and when I pulled the tank there were 4 rubber pads that measure approximately 4"x 2" under the tank, each where the tank is resting on a frame rail. There is also a rubber isolator on each end where the tank bolts to the floor.
Anyone know what these pads are for?
I don't see them keeping any significant portion of the tank bottom off the floor once 190 gallons are in the tank. I am getting ready to put the tank back in and I'm trying to devise a scheme to reinstall them (if necessary). It seems like it will be pretty hard to keep the end of the tank from digging into these pads and keep the fittings in the middle of the tank from grabbing wires/hoses from overhead simultaneously.
I'd love to hear how others got it done. Thanks!
