Spray on bedliner for Generator Tray

Pulled generator for service. Redo for tray and compartment. Pretty bad corrosion in generator tray. Sandblast and Ospho treated rust.  Considering using spray on bedliner after adding a couple drain holes. Thoughts? Also looking for recommendations and sources for insulation material. Any help or thoughts appreciated.

Have used the "Noico" products availible on Ebay,we put that on the metal walls and then added a sound barrier on top of that.If
the tray does'nt get alot of road water on it Rustoleum or Rust Bullet should work,not sure what the drain holes would be for.

This is what we used for the generator and engine area.  Made for under hoods of cars.  I don't know if it was the spray, insulation (since the old had degraded to dust) . Or just tightening everything down... but heat and sound has been reduced quite a bit.  It's not eliminated but we are happy with the product.

About the only material that will reduce the noise and provide some time in case of a fire is R-19 with Hardie Backerboard over it. Might have an air condition shop just make you a new pan out of galvanized. The can make any bends, etc.

If you have that much rust and corrosion on your tray, it would be a good idea to check your bulkhead.

Very little rust on frame or slide just in Gen tray in section on electric end of unit. Lots of moisture contained in tray and trapped under mat in that section only. Ospho, primer and paint and all is well. Parts for gen trickling in. Belts, hoses, bearing, thermostat,water pump, temp and oil sensors. Getting there slow but sure. Also pulling new fuel lines for whole coach. Main supply and return for Cummins pulled out this afternoon. Trying to get rest pulled for gen and aquahot tomorrow A.M. Hope to get made up and installed by weekend. Not sure if going with Trident or Parker. Any thoughts?

I used trident barrier hose, easy to work with, push lock fitting work just fine. No diesel smell( permeation)  in the bays. Do your homework on fuel lines, make sure they are rated for biodiesel.

Wow main fuel supply and return easy removal. Aquahot  and Gen lot tougher. Hope pulling new lines on them is a little easier

Interesting.  The 2001 configuration must be a lot different than the 1997.  I thought the generator and aquahot were easy pulls.  Engine was not hard, but harder than the gen and aquahot. 

I used a barbed union to connect the old engine supply/return hoses to the new and pulled the new in by pulling the old out.  For me, the hardest part was pulling it over the third bay because there was only a few inches to the cross beam where it exits.  I pulled from front to back.

Took tray to sandblast and powder coat along with slide assembly. . Removed all old deteriorated foam insulation for gen quiet box and fiberglass coach lift door. Scraped everything and cleaned with acetone. Acetone will remove paint from quiet box. Switched to denatured alcohol. Cleaned and painted gen compartment. Covered gen compartment, front fiberglass compartment door and gen quite box with Noico 80 mil sound deadening mat. 72sq ft. Enough left for tray when comes back next day or so. Installed new end bearing. New motor mounts 8 total in hand. Have all new belts, hoses, filters, thermostat, water pump, hi temp/low oil sensors. Waiting for one hose. In meantime all fuel lines pulled. Think figured out dash lights (led bulbs here tomorrow). Replaced both dash blower fans. One had bad bearing and after fighting to get out figured $200 well spent to buy another and replace both at same time. Still would like to know about dash inverter for electroluminescent  dash perimeter lights. Couple more projects of a convenience nature to tackle. Learning tons. One of which is understanding why labor is so expensive on these things. Thanks for all input and advice. Will be seeking more, you can rest assured
