Retarder bracket, another PM project done

I have read and seen pics here of retarder brackets that have broke and drug the retarder down the road. Apparently it was a piss poor weld job/design by Foretravel. So new year's we were in Galveston with some friends and met someone new to our group. He said he was a welder and a 💡went off in my head. Talked to him about doing some welding for me. Pulled the bracket last week and took it to him Saturday. He did a great job!! It was not hard to pull and the retarder was a lot lighter than I expected. I also replaced the 4 bolts holding the retarder to the bracket, it looked like only about 2 threads per bolt were being used, added 1/4" to the bolt length.  Now on to the next project.

Those who have a failure or those who will. Glad you got it done on your timeline and not on the side of the road👍
