Rain and No Slide Toppers

First time in the rain in our new to us Nimbus.  Our slides don't have slide toppers - my question is it sounds like water in draining somewhere - not wet in the coach.  Is there a channel between the slide edges and the body of the RV that water drains out of?

No

Water should be coming off the side or front of the slide

If you have one of the early coaches make sure your slide top does not have the aluminum around the edge and it is higher than the rest of the slide. That was a fault in the first few they built.

Our 2012 Nimbus in a rainstorm sounds like it drains in side, but I think it is running along the edges of the slide next to the seal. As long as you are not getting leaks around the seal you should be ok.

True but they introduced the nimbus really in 07/08 and I did not know when they changed the slide tops and an 09 can be made in 08.  It is something that a quick check can determine but looking at the top of the slide

When  Foretravel started the no topper deal , it was the idea of giving all new coaches the --bus-- look . This also went along with the higher prices . The wiper on top of these first slides had to deal with high edges around the top of the slides that brought water in when slides were retracted . This was corrected by filling the top to a flat surface so the built in wiper could push off what ever was on top of it . Where the water runs off from rain makes no difference . The bladder seal  takes care of any intrusion . On my coach , now 10 years old , no problem's . I do like the idea of a topper , but---- ::)  ::)  ::)  Brad Metzger

The 2006 Nimbus is essentially a rebadged U295/U320.  For the 2007 model year it was a redesign/new model.

Kind of what I was thinking. It is a 336  36 ft  so what U number would that be equivalent to.

In those years it wasn't length-dependent but rather power train and trim level.  Engine, transmission, AquaHot vs. furnace, etc.
