under sink water filter

Just asking the knowledgeable about this.....the company I had winterize my coach in November for Canadian winters (I have now learned how to do it myself for future winters) did not remove the under sink everpure filter when they ran pink through  the system and it is still attached. I have now purchased the diverter for future winterization, but did this hurt or affect my system and the "job" he did in winterizing. I realize I will have install a new one when I de-winterize...

I would remove the filter and make sure it is full of anti freeze.  If it is, I would say no problem on the winterization.  Then install the diverter and throw the filter away.

No harm, no foul, other than the filter (which needs to be replaced every 6 months or so, anyway, and definitely if allowed to sit unused for months, so it really didn't waste the filter, either - you would need a new one for the season, anyway).  It will likely have stripped out the color from the antifreeze, but it will not have reduced the efficacy of the antifreeze.  Plus that filter only feeds the drinking water tap and the ice maker, not the rest of the coach.

Yeah as long as antifreeze is in the system you should be fine. I removed that filter myself. I put in a whole coach filtration system in the passenger side wet Bay above the water pump. Some people laughed at me when I did it but that's okay. Now all of my water going into my tank and coming out of my tank is filtered through three 10-in in diameter filters. The first one being a 5 micron sediment filter, the second one a 5 micron carbon block filter, and the third one being a one micron I believe ceramic filter. Other than in Maine where the water had heavy metal and iron in it this system has proven to be very effective in treating all the water that comes in my coach. I don't like the idea of just a drinking fountain in the kitchen area being filtered. I don't know about you but when I brush my teeth and take meds in the morning I drink out of the bathroom faucet, when I take a shower water goes into my mouth from the shower faucet and when I wash dishes I want filtered water washing my dishes as well. And in the end it's cheaper this way because replacing those little filters every 6 months can get quite expensive. The carbon block filter I replace about every 9 months to a year, the sediment filter replace about every 3 to 6 months depending on flow, and the ceramic filter I just have to clean about every 6 months. So far I like the system you just have to make sure that the o-rings are properly lubricated. The filters are big and they do take up room but it would have been empty space anyway.
Anyway I just thought you should know that they're alternatives to that small under sink filter that only services one or two areas of the coach.

Can you please post the brand and where to get that filter system? I may investigate going that way!

We really don't have a freezing issue here, but keeping a filter attached in the coach for months while we are at home seems like a waste since we feel like it goes "stale" just sitting there with water in it.  We decided to install another valve in our home kitchen in order to use the same cartridge there when not on the road.  The instructions for the filters suggests replacing when the the stream begins to weaken.  Our filter last about a year and we transfer it between coach and home as needed.  This is a lot better than "chucking it" after using it only a few months on a trip, and we have filtered water for drinking and coffee at home.

On a related issue, we have another house that is being rented by the owner of a commercial water filtration company who will not use the reverse osmosis system we have at that house since it removes all the minerals from the water.  Food for thought.

The doulton filters to 0.5 micron.
