Rebuilt Sauer Danfoss 1090273 fan control module

I'm down at MOT and Keith has diagnosed a issue with the Fan always running at highspeed to the Sauer Danfoss 1090273 fan control module.  New part is over $1,300 and he suggested I would be better off looking around for a rebuilt one or have someone rebuild it for us.

Anyone recommendations on companies to source these parts or do the rebuild?  I've poked around on E-bay, but came up empty.

Hi John,

Thank you for this.  I spoke with Jim from SEI and went over it with Keith and this looks like a great alternative.  Keith said this is the mechanical type sensor they used on the older models and his experience was they are less prone to failure.  The major difference is the electronic sensors monitor air temperature in addition to coolant temperature.  So, I'm going to order he kit and Keith will install that instead.

I had a conversation with a Motorcade member several years back about said fan controller. I mentioned mine went out and I bought one from FOT for about $800, probably around 2013. And he said he sent his into the manufacturer for rebuild for $300. I felt a little foolish since I had never pursued that avenue. It might be worth contacting the manufacturer.

John, just a heads up. that may not be all of your problem,  Our fans run on high and I replaced with the wax valve and as it has turned out they still run on high, The controller that is mounted on one of the fan motors is bad and I haven't been able to find one that will work.  I was told that they are no longer making that part and I haven't been able to find anything that will replace it

Obviously an evil plot! I too have a fan hydraulic motor problem.  On the hunt  for repl/rebuild. Found two possible sources after closing time this PM. Will post info after contact Monday AM.

Are you're referring to the control valve on the front fan motor? I didn't take ours apart while replacing the motor seals, but it looks to be just a simple piloted spool valve. It might be rebuildable using standard O-rings, quad rings, and/or cups.

Just looked at the Sauder manual and the #1090273 crosses to another number #FDC1090291. Do not know if this helps
