Roof cleaning materials

I was noticing that on my roof, from winter storage, I have little black "spots" on the roof. I have noticed the same thing with other motorhomes I have owned.
I intend to take a scrub brush and take them off but am looking for suggestion on the cleaner everyone favors to use that is good and easy on the finish. Suggestions?

Also I have read on this forum about scraping off the roof access non slip stuff, which looks like the PO has partially done. Suggestions how to get that off...again without damaging anything. It looks like the roof is in good condition under it.

A very light bleach solution worked well for cleaning my roof before hitting it with McGuires oxidation remover.

The not stick pad is very easy to remove with a heat gun on low about 10" away, and a paint scraper.  Heat an area up, then lift it with the scraper, and then repeat. Budget about 25 minutes so you don't rush it and apply too much heat.

I have used Bar Keepers Friend powder cleanser with great success on our roof.  It contains oxalic acid which gently removes stains and leaves a smooth shiny surface.

Photo below after a cleaning session.  The roof is dry - not wet.

I was at Foretravel a few years back and noted a couple of the guys cleaning a pretty nasty roof. It was looking good so I asked them what they were using. Turned out it is a product sold at Ace Hardware called Super Clean. It comes in a purple one gallon container. I bought some back then and have been using it ever since. Just a great all around cleaner, especially effective on grease.

I had good luck with MiracleMist RV. Had a lot of mold and algae black spots on the roof.  Spray, let sit for 30 seconds, agitate with soft bristle brush and rinse.  It does have a bleach smell to it, but effective.
