Outstanding! What was the seal manufacturer and part number? Where did you buy the replacement seal?

No number that means anything. Going to the hydraulic shop to match the seal up next day or two. Will post the part number when I get it. Looks pretty close to 1.5od x1.00 I'd by 1/4"

Bruce,

Yes, when you have it, post the seal PN.

Also exactly what pump you have.  I know there were several different ones used over the years and they may not all take the same seal.

Thanks.

the pump is saur sunstrand, the only part number on it is the F/t part number, which means nothing to anyone other than FT. The OEM IF tag has been removerd. I know the pump is the same on 98-2000 270-295

Since other members searching this topic in the future might have a different hydraulic pump, especially on older GV models, I will insert here a shameless plug for my old pump rebuild thread.

My coach has a Vickers V10 pump, and surprisingly the link I provided to a parts source for that model pump is still good 6 years later.

An outstanding thread for the hydraulic pump in Foretravel's.  Thanks for the documentation guys.

The figures that I'm left wondering about IF you don't repair it yourself are.

Average cost of a replacement pump ?

Agerage cost if some other guy does the work.

    At least for this thread.

Ft has a replacement pump for 2400ish plus freight plus 5 or so hours labor@ 100+ an hour.  I would imagine IF,  you could find someone to replace the seal, replace to oil and filters 4-600 dollars. One must be real careful not to ding the housing or the shaft. Installation photos to follow. BTW when you pull the seal 4 Gallons of oil will slowly drain into your 5 gallon bucket with trash bag linner, no muss no fuss.
