Coolant level

Happy Sunday all, when I bought my coach last June, I could see coolant in the sight glass, I noticed on my last trip it had gone down where it was no longer visible. I put more in it, but I'm unsure how much to fill the reservoir? Thanks in advance.

Lipping Full, all the way till it wants to spill out.  Make sure overflow hose is not stiff and cracked with hose clamp on each end.  When engine comes to full temp fill overflow bottle to hot line.  Keep a good radiator cap in tank with fresh gaskets, not cracked or split.

I keep an eye on my overflow bottle and add to it as needed.  All the best.

Here is a past discussion on the topic of "radiator caps" and how the coolant reservoir is supposed to function:

Keep your eye out for possible leaks in the cooling system.  Common places for leakage:

1.  Side mounted radiator (watch the ground under the radiator after you park following a days drive)

2.  Dash heater assembly and heater hoses in nose of coach (watch for coolant drips on the ground especially in cold weather)

3.  Under the engine - radiator hoses and water pump (watch the ground after parking the coach.

4.  In the water heater compartment, under the water heater (only if you have the "Motor Aid" water heater option)

Note:  If you have the Motor Aid water heater option, there should be a shutoff valve in your water heater compartment (see photo).
