Help Air leak from top of the transmission

I drove the coach for about two hours last weekend. Quite a few things happened.
The top part of the passenger side of the rear view mirror fell off. The AC stopped working. The water pump is leaking.
But these are easily fixable. What concerns me is the air leak from top of the transmission.

When I parked the coach after the drive, I can hear a big air leak from the engine department. Crawl under the coacher, I found the leak came from the top of the transmission.

I try to search in the forum but I don't even know what it is called.

It seems like connects to a Norgren solenoid. Since it is on top of the transmission, Really hard to get a good picture of it.
The location make it extremely hard to reach.
What is the solenoid for?

Often an air leak near the transmission is a the retarder accumulator valve, but looking at your photos, those parts are something different.

ETA - doing a search, yup, based on this thread, that's likely the retarder accumulator valve.  In particular, read reply #4 by @JohnFitz where he mentions a Norgren valve used for the early retarder implementations (like your 1991).

Thank you so much. Based on the description, it does sounds like retarder accumulation valve.

I have been using the retarder a lot after Mr. Larger fixed my transmission. Retarder is a wonderful thing.

I will first take it off and clean it like @JohnFitz did. Hope it will fix the issue!

Just took it apart and cleaned it. Applied a lot of silicone grease.

But unfortunately it is still leaking.

Mainly leaking from port 3.

Can I plug port 3 ?

The model no MK01CEA35AGNA is not available anymore.

What is a good replacement parts for this?

Thanks

Call Norgren at (800) 514-0129.  Tell tech support what you have and they will get for fixed up.

I have a Norgren dealer here in Houston, OneHydralics, that I got my valve from and support too.

And, you can not plug port 3 and get proper operation.

it seems like the solenoid just turn on off the air pressure to the retarder. I wonder if I can use a air horn solenoid  :D

Will definitely give one hydraulic a call Monday.
Thanks

Update on this. Call @rudy last week. He give me some lead on where to buy the parts. OneHydraulic is a company in Houston area. I called them, but never able to talk to the technical personal. So I called Norgren eventually. The lady who picked up the phone could not find the replacement part for the MK01CEA35AGNA, but they emailed me the replace part no next day

V61R517A-A212JB
$98.53 each

It is on sale on OneHydraulic for $89. So I bought from OneHydraulic. But OneHydraulic doesn't have any in stock. It eventually shipped from Norgren

It is not a direct drop-in replacement. It feels a lot lighter than the original one. The mounting hole are the same. I am able to reuse the old connector. So I am able to replace the solenoid with the new one and the air leak stopped.

Drove about 100 miles yesterday, the retarder works as expected. I guess the replacement works just fine.

I have a strong feeling that any regular 5-2 solenoid will work like this one.

Update the post to complete the fix so that in the future it can help others.
