Engine water pump

Need replacement water pump for Cummins 8.3- part # 5473302. I've called Cummins in Dallas and Houston, endless hold time, anyone have any suggestions, I'm stranded until this is resolved.

He had said he had gone to the GV  reunion and was still there.

I see it is in Nachogdoches. He's closer to Houston than he is to me. If it's the best you can do my phone is 870 556 0138. I'm leaving at daylight tomorrow for Colorado but could leave you one of mine in Texarkana. Can't imagine Houston which is closer not having one but if not you can call me this afternoon. You will have to verify it will fit your engine. It came off my 96 8.3.  Used but good. Best I can offer just hate to see someone stranded.

Beware that the C8.3 can have either one or two thermostats. On my 97 engine it was one thermostat plus gasket and seal, all separate parts.

Try calling southwest international in McKinney. They have always answered the phone when I have called. Have your engine serial number at hand before calling.

They get stuff quickly.

This is the water pump I put in my 94 c8.3. I ended up choosing a gates pump over cummins as they make quality stuff in my opinion and they had a lifetime warranty over the 1 year cummins part. Plus it's half the cost! Rock Auto can overnight ship if you are in a bind but it might be a little bit spendy. You can also call around to local parts shops and ask for the gates part number. You might find it in stock. Besides motorhomes this motor was used in Ford big trucks of the era as well. Good luck!

Thanks to everyone here that offered help. Cummins is overnighting a water pump from Memphis to FOT, couldn't find one anywhere in the area. Everyone told me to stay with OEM so I didn't research other brands. The Foretravel family of people we've met on this trip have been nothing short of unbelievably kind. I've had people offer to drive to Dallas to get any part I need, a local couple here in NAC has given us the use of their car because we have no toad. It's very humbling when people you barely know offer so much to help us in our time of need. Faith in humanity is restored here @ Camp Foretravel. Although I haven't met most people on this forum, I feel equally grateful and humbled by your generosity as well. I cherish the knowledge and wisdom I receive here and will be forever grateful for what I've learned. The trip has been very challenging for my wife as she suffers from health issues that have really ramped up on this trip(mostly migraines). I know we will return home and discern if we can handle the challenges that go along with owning an old coach. Mentally, physically, and financially it's been a rough 10 days, but the people, to me, make it all worthwhile, but she may not have the same feeling as I might not feel the same if I was the one having the headaches. Again, thank you all for your support and advice and if it's meant to be we'll be on the road sometime after we return home.

Yes, you may be experiencing some "deferred maintenance".

Before you put too much faith in "Cummins" replacement parts being superior, you should know that in many cases (lift pumps for instance) come from overseas. Some may think that's unspeakable (like Voldemort) but it's just part of the world economy today. Same for Gates.

Very surprised to find my U300's Firestone 295/75 was made in Thailand. Still looks new with zero cracks or tread wear 12 years later.
