Ice Maker Leak

Dometic RM1282, Elite w/ ice maker.  Has anyone had this leak before?  Had ice maker out for cleaning when purchased coach.  No leak for 7 months, just started recently.  Was a pain to remove ice maker, just wondering if it is fixable or not.

Easy for that to happen if ice maker on just before driving or while driving.

If not, it may be overfilling.  On many ice makers, you can remove the plastic end cap and access the adjustment screw for water volume.  Particularly if ice cubes are attached to each other, this may be the issue.

Another, unrelated cause would be that the tube from the water fill to the mold is clogged or misaligned.  May be worth a complete defrost if neither of the above items are at issue.

There is also a fill tube that may of got pushed back and is now filling before ice maker. I have mine apart and will take picture shortly when I go back down to coach. Easy fix once defrosted. Just pull end of like a 5/8 hose deeper into fridge. Cannot reach back side without sliding fridge in.

And now some bad news. It could also be the coating on the ice cube tray. I had this happen and there is no fix except replacement. I hope it is one of the above problems, although the icemaker itself is fairly cheap.

And yes I'm sure there are better but even with a hot freezer and a functioning ice cube/freezer Freon system assisting I get cubes couple times a hour

Thanks for the tips!  When I have a chance, will take it out and check the fill tube and coating.  Water level appears ok.

Does your unit have the Freon chiller unit and does it still work well?

Scott, yes it does have the Freon chiller and it all works well.  Will pull the ice maker out today and check the plumbing.  Other than this leak, the whole thing has worked well.

Close up picture of tube inside behind icemaker. Sealed with RTV to prevent moisture getting into insulation. Ice maker has a little box that fits tight against the wall to capture water as it pours in. Also I found the wire harness and the Freon tube had no seat and was leaking cold air out and hot air if from the back side. Filled with yellow spray foam. Also the wire harness may need to be modified for the replacement icemaker. Mine did. Works good. Second picture was back side filled it with spray foam inside also. Also repositioned both the loose tubes and spray foamed backside when I had cooler out today.
