2001 slide tipping roller mod

I removed my carpet and installed vinyl plank and am very happy with is however I didn't want to adjust the lower carpet glide plate against the vinyl plank do to damaging it when slide is moved. I literally had to shim slide up before I could engage slide lock pins. Top was leaning three inches in. So I decided then to build rollers before I moved slide again. It is currently on deferral for a bad bladder but I had the dinette out to replace refrigerator cooling unit for the needed extra room. Decided to build roller now since it will never be easier. I ordered extra 1 3/4 nylon for door rollers and decided that would be a good use for the slide also. Material I is being shipped but I went ahead and made and installed adjustable roller mount. Easily removed if needed since it is all drilled up and everything is taped. Dinette can now be reinstalled. Will add roller and axle later.

How are you going to level it out. That hole is wider than the bolt I am sure so you can adjust it but there is a lot of weight on that part of the slide and it will probably push up.  I pulled my whole room out to have the delay fixed on my 01 and talked to David Flanagan at FT about putting in rollers or even different glides as we wanted a wood floor but he said he had not seen one that wold work on the first ten slide. I hope yours works and that will allow a lot people more options to put in different flooring.

Scott, you might want to turn the roller so it is slightly convex with the center slightly larger diameter than the ends. Should reduce any potential for a pressure point at the end of the roller.

Roger that is a great idea. The roller will be six inches long but relaxing the ends will decrease printing on the flooring.
John I'll be putting one in the front also. There are three 1/4-20 grade 8 bolts going in the side and three on top in the middle of the plate. I see no need for a additional one in the middle of the slide, no support.  Gives me about a 1/4 adjustment and I can increase if needed.

Cut roller and mocked up with short bolts. Will get the correct length grade 8 bolts to go thru to both adjusters. Tensioned up by fingers and will duplicate for front roller.

Be sure to sweep the floor before bringing the room in or grit will get pressed into your new floor.  You might want to use a piece of flooring under the roller or perhaps a strip of a FLOR carpet tile.  $2.99 each in the random outlet. 1/4 to 3/8 thick. Tough.  I park the coach on them and they run down the inside of barn next to the coach.

Scott, looks awesome and that just might make it easier for the slide and any issues.  What we did was try to adjust the original plates with not much luck, so decided to put in a few extra full length pieces of the flooring we installed to allow the plates to glide over them.  It helps, but not the best solution.  We do an extra sweep of the floor before we move the slide, as any speck becomes a large rock and scores the floor.  As you know, I installed the rubber interlocking flooring.

I'm hoping between vacuuming and swifering it won't get too damaged, but were we go your constantly bringing in sand rocks and sharp fines. One of the reasons I put down flooring following the direction of the slide movement. I speculate the rollers will load up with junk too.

We should purchase stock in the swiffer!  Use it all the time and the wet ones are the bomb!  Looking forward to your visit.  Have a new Foretravel owner coming in today!

Wonder if adding a felt strip before and after roller would help?

Yes but past that point. The dinette is reinstalled. Was room to install roller but the mounts now would be a pain. Function over form. Our coach is real nice but probably more utility than most.
