Dutchman56's key fob question (new topic pulled out of Re: Dinging)

Has anyone else had problems with the auto key fob battery not lasting?

Battery actually going bad (does it work when you put in a new battery?) or key fob not opening bays/entry door locks?

If the latter and your chassis batteries were allowed to go low, you've likely had the bay door actuators fail due to low voltage.  In a 2003, if the chassis batteries go low, the actuators can start "chattering" and will fail.

It's just draining the battery in the FOB. When we put a new battery in it worked fine for about 3 days and then stopped working
