Insulation above front windshield in back of tv and audio equipment

Our old insulation has fallen down a bit and is turning into a fine powder at the top.  I would like to replace it.
Should I just use typical fiberglass  home insulation?

Thanks

That's what I did. Batts of standard insulation worked fine

You may want to consider using rockwool insulation as it is a good thermal and sound insulation.

Thanks,

Is it necessary to tape it in or can i just stuff it in there.  It comes 15in by 47 in which two would be perfect.

A couple of years ago our overhead TV died.  In the process of installing a new TV I discovered the front cap insulation had turned to mush.  What a chore it was to clean out that mess.  I was in a hurry so went to Home Depot and bought some batt insulation and cut it to fit.  It more or less just slid into place.  Not the best but it's still in there.  The front cabinets get warm/hot when the rig is parked facing south/west into the sun.  I suspect the inside of the front cap fiberglass gets condensation on it during the winter, just like the windshield does, i.e., cold outside, warm inside.  One of my future projects is to remove the batt insulation then spray foam insulation on the front cap and/or install some LINGDA 10mm heat shield thermal sound insulation proofing deadener.  Remembering what a goat rope it was to disassemble the front cabinets has put this project on the back burner.  There's always something that is more important.  ;D
