1995 U300 Cat 3176 cruise control question

Cruise control has never worked since we bought the coach. Does anyone have any idea what to check?

What system is it-- Bendix? King Control?

To answer your question, need to know what type cruise control on your coach.  Two main possibilities are Bendix and King Controls.  Bendix is a air powered cruise control combined with an air throttle.  King Controls is a electronic system.  If you have the Bendix system there will be a air cylinder in your engine bay hooked up by a cable to the engine throttle lever (photo below).

It is tied in to your brake lights so make sure they work FIRST.

We checked around the motor and didn't see a bendex control so we must have the King control.
Bob thinks when he tries to turn the cruise on,  the check engine light comes on.

It's also wired to the Jake..!
