Bose Lifestyle 21st century update with Bluetooth.

My OEM Bose Lifestyle sound system is a dinosaur...thought of tossing it...the CD player munched itself....I don't have a tape player, VCR or satellite dish...so, it's just a FM radio (without a display) at this point.

Until today.  I ordered a Bluetooth receiver for it and hooked it up this afternoon.  It's become a part of the Foretravel 21st century AV experience once again.

Amazon has these little gizmo's Amazon.com: Esinkin Wireless Audio Receiver for Music Streaming Sound System... for $23 so I thought I'd give it a shot.  Had to pull the Bose out of the upper cabinet far enough to plug in the RCA jacks into the "Tape" input for the Bose, plugged in the power adapter to an outlet in the upper cabinet, pushed the BT pair/power button, and paired it with my phone, laptop and desktop.  Can now play XM radio app through speakers that are bigger than a matchbox, and can hear streamed movies in the best surround sound that the 90's had to offer!!!  Just select Tape input and turn it up!  It is CD sound quality with no extraneous noise.  The Chinee do get some stuff right.  Sigh.

Will hook up the audio out put from the front TV through a audio switcher and then can listen to TV broadcasts (OTA and streamed) thru the Bose as well.  As long as I'm plugged in, am again in Bose mode like Mr. Fore intended.

Thought some of you music aficionado's might like to give it a whirl before you chunk the Bose system in the dumpster and/or spend hundreds on some clunky powerbar speaker system.

Woody.

I also use those, one for my shop stereo. Different brand. $12.00 delivered off Ebay. Easier then hooking the phone up to av cords. Wish they made a A/V Video one.
I have a couple of the $10.00 ones that plug into the cig lighter, and broadcast to an unused FM station. Works awesome. Has charger too.

If we use that gizmo will we be able to have our amazon firestick play through the bose speakers.
Our Joey Dish Receiver signal goes from it to the Bose Speakers.
But when the firestick is plugged into to TV (and we put the RCA cable from it (TV) to the Bose, no sound.  However the RCA plugs on the TV state Audio IN.  So I was looking and they do make a DAC Digital to Analog Audio Converter that may work because on the back of the TV is a digital audio optical out plug that we can plug the converter into with the RAC plug on the other end going into the Bose system.

Thanks

They make adapters to convert digital out, to A/V cables. Then plug those onto the Bose:

I just hooked up that digital to analog converter.  It worked fine.  I have posted this problem several times here, but no solutions.
I guess I just didn't explain myself well enough.  So thank you immensely.  We were going to settle for a sound bar.
Having said that our Sony Disc Changer doesn't work.  I don't think it ever worked and we are just getting around to fixing all of this.
We don't want to keep the Panasonic VHS System.  But we would like to keep the Sony.
When I plug the control cord in it doesn't indicate that I am getting any power to it.

Curious if anyone has figured out a solution to straight up replace the Bose head unit. My coach did not come with one and I'm slowly building up the courage to dive into that cabinet and attempt to figure out what all the wires are.

The Bose system was removed from my coach before I bought it. I put in
a Sony Home Theater Receiver up in the over head cabinet and then wired
it in. I threw out a lot of the Bose wires. You should have a lot of fun as some
of the wiring didn't make any sense as one of the speaker wires for the rear
left speaker went up to the over head cabinet and then back to the speaker.
