Outback Inverter Setting & Use Questions
Hello from near Houston Intercontinental Airport.
Am hoping someone uses and understands Outback brand Inverter / Chargers in a Motorhome Application.
I have two 2006 year model VFX3524 Mobile Outback Inverter / Chargers with a PSX-240 "autoformer" and 4-port Outback Hub.
The system is set up to provide only 120vac and has four 8D AGM batteries wired in both series and parallel.
I have owned my RV for 2 1/2 years and it came with brand new DEKA "Dominator Extreme GEL" batteries which lasted only two years. I limped with those batteries until almost one month ago at which time I had to replace them, and did so with four Napa brand 8D AGM batteries that I understand are made by East Penn. (wanted Concord Lifeline batts as replacements but none were available)
In an attempt to not lose another set of batteries prematurely, I would appreciate knowing your settings and experience with your Outback system with AGM batteries - and how long YOUR house batteries typically last.
My settings are:
P1 Charger Control = ON
P2 Charger Control = Auto
Charging Current on P1 = 18 amps
Charging Current on P2 = 10 amps
Absorb setpoint 28.2 volts for 4 hours (P1 & P2)
Float setpoint 27 volts for 1 hour (P1 & P2)
Re-float setpoint 25 volts (P1 & P2)
Equalization OFF
THANK YOU very much! Jeff...
