Oil pressure issue

Last night when I started the motor home the Sliverleaf register no oil pressure and
a code Eng PID 100 33 Engine oil Pressure Low Reading. My dash gauge was reading
properly so I went to my night parking place. Same this morning and later I decided to
come home, same thing only now the engine light came on. Driving home the engine
light would go out and then came back on and then I had the stop engine light come
on. Twice when the engine stop light came on I lost a lot of power. Question, does the
M11 have two engine oil pressure sensors and it the one for the computer shot. It's too
shity out to do any trouble shooting today. Oh sometime the Silverleaf would read 100
PSI and other times it would read 0

Peter,  My 1995 M11 did have two oil pressure sensors.  One for dash and one for ECM.

Thanks Rudy I just got off the phone with Cummins and he gave me the part
numbers for the oil pressure sensors. I will climb under the coach tomorrow
and check first if there is a wire missing and then order a sensor.

Peter the oil pressure sender is also the temperature sender. Real hi level of pain to change. Its forward of the ac compressor on the engine right side behind the compressor gearbox. My ECM oil pressure has always worked fine, however the factory gauge is literally all over the place. The low oil pressure warning light must be on its own circuit on mine, it seems to work fine. Replacements part are impossible except for senders. Special wrench will be needed to change.

Thanks Scott what size socket did you use.

Ism oil pressure

So the sensor is a 1 1/4 nut. There is minimum clearance and you cannot put a socket on it. I cut a 12 point socket down to about 3/4 of a inch and welded to a 3/8 x 8 inch extension. No joy still too big to fit. Relieved down to 5/16 inch. Was able to snake in there then. Tighten up sensor and with the new indexing of the new sensor the clip for the plug was positioned so as you could not remove wrench. Loosed up and removed wrench. Cut center flat out and reinstalled and torqued. Removed wrench but new problem is the connector release clip is against the engine gear drive housing. Don't know if I ever have to remove that I would be able to. In a leap of faith I plugged the connector on and heard it lock.
I'd like to know more about the second oil switch too

I replaced my oil sensor a few years ago,  I fought it for about two weeks,  The new sensor was 1-1/6" ( I think) the old one was 1-1/4" ( I think, It was 4 years ago).

Like dsd above I went through a variety of sockets, none of which would fit the allowable space.  I finally bought a crows foot wrench and had it changed out in 15 minutes.  Buy the appropriate crows foot and save a lot of headaches.

Yes there are two.  Your problem one is the one behind and below the ac compressor

I don't remember where exactly.  My recollection was up near the ECM.

It was 4 years ago when I researched this problem on m 98 U320.  I remember that the dash oil pressure gauge still read normal oil pressure

My recollection was up near the ECM.

That is where ours is hid. To get to ours I had to remove the ECM and ECM cooler just to see it. BUT even at that it is easer to get to than the one hid by the cam sensor.  I still don't understand why they hid it in that location rather than in another port of the same oil gally.

I was out there this morning and disconnected the leads into the sensor below the
cam sensor and the one behind the ECU and I'm still getting oil pressure at the gauge.
So I have no idea where it's getting its reading. There is a test quick coupler at the
rear of the engine.

I just reread the drawing Cummins sent me and the one behind the ECU they
call it a temperature sensor. I'm going out and try and pull the front sensor.

I got the sensor out and was able to use a 11/4 combination wrench and I will go out
and pick up a new one.

Double check it before you install for correct static reading. Last one i changed was bad from stock

As Steve22 said the new one is 11/6 or 27mm which I used a socket to put it back in.
The old one 3080406 is the part # and the upgraded part # is 4921487. I took the
cam sensor of and that way I was able to use the 11/4 combination wrench and used
the open end.

Having the Silverleaf sure helps. If I hadn't had it when the engine lights came on I
wouldn't had a clue what was wrong. When I first tested the new sensor I hadn't put
the wire back on the sensor behind the EUC and when I cleared the oil pressure fault
a new one showed up, no oil temperature. Put the wire back on and cleared it and all
is good. When I bought the coach the Silverleaf come with it. I don't know it I would
have bought one but now having one I wouldn't be without it.
