Centramatics part number

According to the centramatics flow chart my 95 U280 uses part number 800-822 for the front and part number  600-640 for the rear duals.

I have read older post that show a different number for front 22.5" with disc brakes.

Something about stud piloted vs hub piloted. I'm almost certain mine are stud piloted.

Suggestions?

Edit.... front disc with aluminum wheel should be 800-822 part number

Yes you have stud piloted wheels or what is referred to Budd wheels.
You should need 600-630 for the front and 600-640 for the rear.
Not sure about that 800-820 you could give them a call and see what the difference is. It will have something to do with disc brakes and aluminum wheels. They may have had a recent product change for some reason.

Justin,

Just a reminder:  Your coach studs are left handed on the left side so don't strip/break them off going the wrong direction.  If you look at the end of the stud it should have a "L" stamped on it.

I had the Centramatics Installed on my 03 - U295 at the Centramatics Factory in Alvarado, TX. and good thing I did.
The rear balancers stud holes were to small and they had to enlarge the hole's, Only took about a extra 20 minutes. They also don't charge you to Install the balancers.

Something I stumbled on while I was there is they rebuild the Kubota and Isuzu generator motor's. Thought that was a strange side line for them.

The Centramatics flow chart seems confusing, conflicting or maybe its just late and time to go to bed .... :headwall:

I am advised that I should need the 600-630 for the front, it seems many members have used these too, the company flow chart shows I need the 800-822, and the description for the 700-720 is for the 22.5" steel or aluminum wheel on steers 10 bolt 11.25" bolt circle, which is what I have.

Heck........maybe they all will fit?  :facepalm:

I'm gonna wait for more info........... :help:

The easiest and most reliable thing to do is to either email or call centramatic. That's what I did. They will have all your answers.

Too many options that look like they "should" work. I'm certain that the 600-630 would work as Mike mentioned, but there may be a better option for the front disc brake with Aluminum wheel.

I called Centramatics today and spoke with a sales representative. He informed me that the flow chart for the Class 8 trucks doesn't apply to motorhomes. He said there were just too many variances from one manufacture to another. He sad to use their "Buses/Motorcoach/RV" section and select which brake style, wheel size and whether steel or aluminum. If not sure, call them.  ^.^d

He ask what chassis I had.........I said "Foretravel" ......... ::) He asked again... "What CHASSIS?" ... Repeated "Foretravel"... they made their own in the 90's. .......... OK, you need the 700-720  8)

Our 22.5" Aluminum wheels with disc brakes needs the 700-720 for fronts and 600-640 for rears.

Do the rears need to be balanced?
I have the Centramatics on my front now.
When I last bought tires I asked that the rear be balanced. I was shocked to see how many unsightly wheel weights they glued to my rims( outside). I would have complained but they had also ruined my drivers side rear wheel and lugs because the "tech" didn't know that my drivers side lugs were a reverse thread. Watching them have to cut my aluminum rim off with a torch and the broken wheel studs and rounded lugs ( amazing how powerful and destructive a 1" air impact wrench can be in the hands of an idiot)  took the breath out of my displeasure of the wheel weights.
My tires have aged out and a new set is needed. I would like to either not balance the rear or try the Centramatics in the rear.

No way of knowing if yours would need balancing or not, but there is a good chance that they would. I wanted to have mine changed here at my shop and have no way of balancing them here, so it seemed like a "no brainer" for me to try them. Many good reviews on them. Tires should never need balancing or re-balancing as they wear. Once and done hopefully.

Let us all know where you had this "disastrous" experience so that we will all avoid repeating that experience.  :o

I don't want to hijack the thread, but why Centramatics over balancing beads?  I've used beads by weight for 2 sets of tires over 15 years, and I'm happy.  What am I missing?

Convenience, buy a tire anywhere on the road or roadside service mount and install.

I chose the centramatics because many tire shops don't spin balance in my area...not sure about nation wide. I also don't like "stuff" rolling around in my tires, possibly getting in the valve stems.
 Just me.
I had the current set of Michelin XZE tires spin balanced. I will mount the Toyos here at my shop and install the  centramatics.
 Centramatics are expensive but with a million mile warranty.... should be one and done. 👍.
