Redoing the double pane windows

Hello all! Purchased a '99 320 a couple of weeks ago and am in the process of fixing multiple issues and one of which is 6 windows that are experiencing window creep.

I have sourced the spacer seal and other supplies needed but the spacer is on back order with no real time table of it being in stock (along with multiple other things that I'd like to replace..)

Does anybody me know of any other place that has this in stock? I'm not a huge fan of a foggy door window as it's difficult to see traffic when driving.

Maybe there's another solution that I haven't researched.

There is some place in Oregon that repairs windows and I believe you can buy kits from
them for fixing them yourself. I can't remember their name. Some of my window could
use fixing but as they are still not fogging up they are on the back burner to be fixed.

Maybe The Fog Doctor in Searcy, AR would answer your question? There are always window repair mobile units at Quartzsite during January when we are there. I believe there are multiple window repair facilities in the Phoenix AZ area. Since you full time, we don't know your location so these are just suggestions. Owners on this forum have repaired their own windows. The search feature on this site is your best friend.

Had mine done at RV fog dr in Searcy Ar. They did a good job, as always make sure all work meets your expectations before funds change hands.

So the several thinks I learned in the window I did and the windows in our coaches. If you have changed your windows this was probably done. First off the glass in our coaches is old school junk. There is little UV protection or rejection. Second get the light so it is at the critical angle to show all the imperfections in your glass and you'll see all the ridges in it. So the 3/16 spacer must be special ordered, but once I figured out what was going on and the cost to buy the supplies to do it I realized my Local glass shop could do the windows. They have a 20K$ hot urethane equipment that makes the job a breeze and it done in ten minutes and ready to install.  He asked me if instead of cleaning the glass just to replace the tempered glass and not even mess with the old. 20/20 hindsight that is what I'm going to do in the future. The big upside to this is 99% UV Rejection!!! Next is being able to add a improved tint. Lo-E. So the old school window guy literally took a razor blade and slit off the excess of the 1/4" seal and it worked great. Obviously I will order ahead of time so he can build my new windows. He charged me like 65$ to assemble and apply hot urethane. Said to cut glass and assemble with good glass would be about $250 each. Ceramic tint on front windows. Check out your senior glass shops. They can do the job well.

Ernie, we have been looking at having this done to ours, as it is currently stored covered but outdoors, still gets some sun.  The indoor storage should be completed soon, but, was curious as to what percentage tint you went on your windshield and have you had experience yet to notice heat difference. Summer is here already in Phoenix and heat pours in off the windshield. We are getting our other windows done also, just having a hard time deciding on the darkness on the windshield as to visibility while driving...

Ceramic Clear Tint .. You can get it in minimal tint or clear.. I did the whole Rv and it helped a lot.. Also changed the blinds to MCD and it helped..

Windshield was the biggest difference.. It was a heat box when driving into the sun.. Now its not to bad.

I am trying to do them correctly by using the right spacers, sealant and caulking applicator without having to spend $200+ per window, especially after purchasing new tires and a buttload of other things already for this coach.

I guess for now I wait until things aren't on back order anymore. Finding things these days is getting difficult.

this is a kit that is offered. I may go ahead and get one to fix my foggy window and wait for the other stuff to get in stock.

I was really skeptical to reduce my night vision with tint on the windshield. Put it in my suburban , home run. Did my dodge truck , again home run . Can't wait to get the windshield in the coach done. Im going to buy the product and practice doing it till i get it right and save $500. The only night time noticeable difference would be the reduction of oncoming illegal non DOT Led headlights. Extremely satisfied. Will probably do my junk glass till i can afford to replace. Cheap patch

How long does the ceramic coating last? Is it a one and done thing?

I would be real careful on how dark you tint the windows you look out of to drive. I have a Jeep Liberty the PO tinted all the windows the same dark tint and when I turn I have roll down the side windows to see out so I feel safe to make the turn. Not a easy to do if it's pouring down rain and the DW is not happy on a right turn.

Zach welcome to the forum. Endless amounts of information both current and prior. Top right side of this page is a search window i generally always return to the first page of the forum too search, seems I get more results. i use search everyday in resolving issues with my coach or different ideas resolved prior. Lots of much smarter than I have travel theses paths before. Pictures are always great. Scott
