5389 Found a New Home

We purchased build number 5389 and are finally getting around to formally introducing ourselves.  On March 19 we closed the deal on a 42 DGFE U320 in Fort Morgan Colorado.  Crazy as it sounds, never owned a diesel before, never driven a 42 foot coach before, but we just hopped in and took off. Our current rig is a Lance truck camper.

I need to back up a bit though.  In December we stumbled on the Forum when we looked at a 1998 U320 in none other than Fort Morgan.  I posted on the forum looking for some inspection guidance and Racedad, aka Wayne, came to our rescue.  If you don't know Wayne I would highly encourage you to drop him a line.  He drove from the Denver area to Fort Morgan, spent the better part of a January day looking at a coach with us that we passed on.  That same coach with all of its undisclosed issues has been sitting on the MOT lot now for a couple of months.  In March Wayne once again met us in Fort Morgan and this time we closed the deal.  We purchased our rig from a forum member, Adam Byler.

The learning curve has been quite steep for us and we are very thankful for the guidance from Wayne and Roger, not too mention the volume of information we have gained by searching the forum.  You all are a wealth of knowledge.  We are gradually making progress on some repairs, renovations, and maintenance items.  We look at each day's "win and loss" columns.  Right now we are ahead, yet still have a few issues that we are struggling to resolve.

Here's an easy one for someone out there.  We have been looking for the level sensing unit.  Any thoughts?  It's not under the couch, we don't have one of those, and it's not under the cook top.

Not sure if this helps, but mine was in the cabinet under the refrigerator. It has a black plastic dome type cover over it.

Seems like on some of those DGFE that age it was hid under the bottom drawer of the desk. You will have to pull the drawer out to see it.
Welcome to the group and don't be shy about asking questions as there is no need to reinvent the wheel when there are others that most likely have been down that road before.

Mine is somewhere under the kitchen cabinetry. Welcome to the forum and as Mike said
ask your questions. I had a Class A before this Coach but this one is a lot different so it is
quicker to ask then spending hours try to figure the problem on your own.

If you have a desk, pull the lower drawer completely out. It's on the floor

Congratulation on your purchase. Welcome. The search box at the upper right of this page is priceless in regards to prior information. Large learning curve to say the least. Its more like trying to eat a elephant, one bite at a time. Seems every day I learn something new. So curiosity ill ask why you need to access the level sensor? Sometimes the symptoms of a problem are just that and are not the actual problem. So what has lead you to needing to access it?

On my 42 foot DGFE it was under the pantry slide out next to the sink.  When we replaced it we put it on the roof of the first bay. Much easier to do it that way and it worked fine
