Carpet cleaning/ upholstery.?

Hey all, does anyone have any experience getting your carpets cleaned in you MH? We just have it around the bed in back and would have to say it's not been cleaned in awhile. Just not sure about soaking it as with a steam cleaner or traditional carpet cleaner would do. It is a 2008 and carpet and upholstery on couch are original as far as I can tell. We have only owned it for about 6 months. Has anyone used Chem-Dry?

A few times, we have parked in the Lowe's or Home Depot parking lot and used one of the rental machines.  They work well - I eventually bought one!

X2.  I bought a Rug Doctor and use it about every 2 or 3 years.  Paid for itself, works well and it's easy.

Just remember that its installed over raw plywood. A water barrier would of been great but was not required. So keep moisture levels as low as possible. Make sure you dry it out well afterwards.

We enjoy our carpet throughout the coach. I use my d-i-l's carpet shampooer once a year. I try to do it when the temp is scorching so it will dry fast. I also make sure the thermostat is off when I'm done......and I'm going somewhere else!

Funny... we're headed to Lowes at lunch to grab a cleaner for our coach as well. Good luck!

We have a small upholstery cleaner which works good for the bedroom carpet and
also works good on the headliner.

With dogs, we use a Bissell Dog carpet machine. It also has a hose with the solution and suction for the chair and headliner. We usually check Amazon for reviews on the solution and buy at Home Depot. It's worked well on the OEM wool carpet for 13 years. We usually vacuum and clean a couple times a year plus after a big trip. Expensive machine but super cheap at thrift stores. Put fan on the carpet to dry it.

I live in a small place on a crawl space.  Last winter I got tired of the cold floors and decided to carpet.  I went with the 2' x 2' carpet squares at menards for $3 ea.  They are random patterns but good quality.  I had cats indoors also and the squares were nice cause if they were messed on I just pulled it up, took it outside to hose it off and let it dry.  Done.

Couldn't be happier with the carpet squares/tiles.  I'd sure consider them for an RV if I was to carpet one.

Every Chem-dry is owned and run by different franchise holders, but we have used several a couple times with good results. Not all may want to work in confined space of a motorhome.

FYI we use Chem-dry white aerosol Spot Remover, buy several cans for $10 ea from ChemDry owner. Removes all of our carpet spots.

Thanks all for the ideas for cleaning the carpets...are trying to get hold of Chem Dry now... hopefully won't have to do this more than a couple times if I can manage to figure out how to get together with Ernie at some point and have him redo the whole coach... it's all about timing at this point....

Wife has our home carpets cleaned once a year with Stanley Steamer. Every time he's here, I pull the coach out and open the slide, and he does the carpet.  It's a steam cleaning process and he vacuums up most of the moisture and it stays pretty dry.  It makes the carpet look like new.

Best plan, yet

Spend way longer than you think necessary sucking every last bit of moisture out of the carpet when you are finishing, excess shampoo left in the carpet will cause dirt to be attracted to the carpet:
I prefer to use a spot cleaner on the dirty areas and just use very little soap
