Replacing Prosine with Victron Multiplus

Based on Roger's recommendation, I am replacing my Prosine which has become unreliable with a Victron Multiplus.  The Multiplus has a trickle charger 4A for the start batteries.  I plan to run a fused lead with a ground to the closest spot to keep the start batteries topped off when parked.  Under the white panel is a 10 ga wire C6 red that goes through a couple of breakers before it gets back to the positive side of the start batteries.  Sure hate to run a new wire through two bays passed the rear wheels and to the bedroom under bed just to for the trickle charger.  I feel this location should not be a problem.  Let me hear from the collective wisdom of the group.

I would do it instead of having to run a new wire all the way to the batteries.

Thank you for you thoughts.  I am leaning towards doing it.  As I see no downside or harm.

What do you have now to keep the chassis batteries charged?  I think I would just continue to use my already installed Amp-L-Start.  Or consider installing a new one for under $100.  Easier than running new wires.

I did not have anything to charge the start batteries while parked and hooked up to power.  I would have to turn the boost switch on occassionally to put some charge on them.  Not a fool proof way.  The Multiplus I just installed has a trickle charger separate for the start batteries.  It appears to work great using the line already right next to battery box where I had to run wires anyway.  Real happy now.  Hope that explains it.
