'95 U240 Water Heater

Have been playing with the Water heater in My U240.
Also reviewing the removal and Archives.
I SEEM to have a 10g 3way Water heater located behind the drawers on the RH side of the sink (from the inside)
From the posts it seems to run on Propane, 110v or a Radiator tap from the Diesel cooling system. The Switches under the sink are for the water pump and the Water heater. The Water heater has 2 LED's Green and Red.
I assume (there's that word) that the water heater needs the water pump on to work.
Have a new fill of propane, Have been hooked to 110v for a week and thought that I had WARM water at one tine, but have not found the trick to getting hot water. What is this newby doing wrong?
Thanks guys.

With the propane on and u hit the switch you should hear the water heater kick on. If it's on 110 it's hard to hear but if u get close you should hear it . Do u have a duel set of switch's one for elec and one for propane?

Not as far as I know.
I DO have a switch under the bed, next to the Breaker panel that says Water Heater, and another that says Block Heater.
I turned on the WAter heater switch under the bed then the water pump and Water heater switch under the sink. The red light in the Sink switch turned off immidiatly and left the Green on. VIOLA.......Hot water.
Perhaps the Propane only works when NOT connected to 110v (genny or plug)?
Each day an adventure :)

In my rig,  it's NOT required to have the pump on to fire up the water heater (I just have 110 & gas).  This allows you to use your water hookup.
When using gas, your LED should be steady green only.  If for some reason there's a failure to light or the flame goes out, the red light will come on steady along with the green light.
 What are you seeing?

 Just saw your new post.
As far as I know propane should work with our without shore power.

Hmmmm, my U225 water heater operates only on propane.

Prior owner did an add on.
I believe its called a "hot rod", if not I'm sure others will chime in.
It's a heater element that takes the place of your heater drain plug. Thermostat attached to the back of water heater and 110 routed as you like it.
Works well for two, add a teenager and all bets are off.
Now I have hot water in full hookup (110V), on the road with genny or boondocking with propane.
As we generally camp with hookups it saves a ton of propane.

It's called a Hott Shot with two tee's, we have had one for a few years. Great when you're plugged in and if you need to speed things up just run the propane as well.

The propane might not work while driving because the engine will already have heated the water.  No reason for the propane to light.

So, the U225 does not have MOTOR-AID???

Look at the back of the water heater.  No coolant lines??

No answers for the U225, but the U240 that year had both motor-aid and propane as OE.

Wolfe,
Nope, no coolant lines at all.  In fact I was out there this morning cleaning things off, flushing out the heater etc.
Now, i can't guarantee prior owner didn't change out the entire unit, but it looks original.
 Other rigs?

The coolant lines would be on the BACK/inside of the water heater.  Assume that is where you checked.

I assume on the inside of the rig, in the cabinet space.
I was in there repairing a leak a few years ago, and I don't recall seeing any. If I were a gambling man I'd still say no.
Now you have me curious and I'm going to have to look, just to be sure.
