Slide moving on its own…

While in storage my bedroom slide will move out maybe a quarter of an inch, enough to let the ceiling lights above the slide  come on and the coach not be able to level or go in gear. This happens while sitting in storage and nobody there, it's happened two or three times now. I don't know what could be doing this does anybody have any suggestions? I have to turn the key wait for the bladder to deflate and then hit retract and the slide will move in maybe a quarter of an inch, the ceiling lights will go out and the couch level light will come on and it will go in gear. I don't know what is causing this when nobody is there.

I had the same problem on the same slide in my 2004.  I followed the same procedure that you describe to move the coach out of storage.  Finally replaced the extend and retract solenoids a year ago and no problem since.  HWH has a troubleshooting flow diagram that you can find online.  It may also be a check valve which could save you a lot of money.  They describe a procedure to distinguish between the solenoids and the check valve.  http://www.hwhcorp.com/ml44100bx_so.html#_PERFORMANCE_ISSUES_(Creeping)

I should add that only the extend solenoid caused the problem but given their equal age my default was to replace both.

Thanks Hach! ! Sounds like mine may be the check valve cause it's not moving far..... Now for the stupid question where is this block located that has the solenoids and check valve on it.?

On my coach it's in the bay that contains the HWH compressor.  I thought mine was the check valve, too, but slide creep of greater than 1" usually indites the solenoid.  Mine creeped about 1" over the course of a month or two in storage to the point where I couldn't get the transmission engaged either.  You could always start with the check valve and go from there.  Good luck.

Looking today, are these the solenoids?? Only thing I saw that MIGHT be them. On top of the hydraulic reservoir and pump.

Those are them.  Your layout looks a little different from mine.  Hard to tell from the pictures, but it looks like you have the plastic cams.  You need to put those in a perpendicular position to open the valve and relieve pressure before you unscrew the solenoid.  Once the new one is in make sure the cam is in the parallel position.  It should wiggle freely just a bit allowing the valve to close.  Lubricate and be careful not to pinch the O-ring when installing.
