MOT Inspection

I am looking at another coach at MOT.  I am unsure if I should have MOT do the pre purchase inspection or third party. It is a consignment coach but fell they might have a conflict of interest. Thoughts? I Live on the West coast and would like to know the meat and potatoes before I spend the time to travel out there.

Don't know if I would rely on the selling dealers inspection. If they won't allow an independent 3rd party inspection I'd move on along. Foretravel right up the road my do an inspection for you. MOT used to allow Keith Risch, a former employee to do inspections. But as I understand it they don't allow him to inspect coaches on their property any longer.

Also MOT ownes some of the coaches, others are on consignment. If the stock number starts with a C it a consignment.

We were at MOT a couple of weeks ago and they have a number of coaches on their lot. Very busy place. If they have something you may be interested in, you might ask what their inspection policy is. Also, you can tell them what your interested in as far as year model, style, or whatever and have them contact you when they find it. They have a lot of coaches they sell that never get on the lot. Also, sometimes it takes a leap of faith.......but as we all know, it's not the leap that gets you. It's the sudden stop. Still, occasionally that's what it takes.

Well the coach I am interested in is a consignment. It appears to have a lot of wok done but i am still skeptical of a coach offered by a dealer that does their own inspections.  Can anybody give me a reputable name of an inspector in the area that will give me  a honest rundown of the coach? I have talked with MOT and the dark green paint is checked, to what extent I do not know. The LPG system has also been removed to provide more space for the residential fridge batteries. I have seen a few red flags but am willing to investigate a bit further......maybe a price reduction?

I'm not sure of your floor plan but if you have the factory 8d batteries you can put 800 ahrs. of lithium in the place of two lifelines no need to mess with the lpg.

Yes, we all can. Unfortunately MOT no longer allows him to do inspections on their coaches

Emmett;  there are folks who own Foretravels in that area.  Someone might be interested in taking a short trip to MOT and take a look at the coach you are interested in.  Just another idea!  Most owners can tell a lot by a visual and making sure that all systems work and work well.  You might be able to get a Foretravel employee from Foretravel to make the trip over and check out the coach!  Hope this helps!
