2004 U270 roof inspection observations

Have been researching roof sealing. As far as I know my roof is not leaking. But it does not look typical of the roof sealing videos I have looked at on YouTube. I do not see any evidence of any lap sealant (dicor) ever being used around protrusions vents etc. I also see some small cracks in the fiberglass roof and the front and rear caps. I know the PO painted the roof, probably 4 or 5 years ago. I am not sure what product he used.  My thought are to seal around vents etc with Dicor lap sealant. I have also seen some people put clear paint protector film over crack on the front and rear caps, as a temporary repair. Seems to look ok from a distance and waterproof those cracks. I am an avid do it yourself guy, often learning as I go.  Sometimes it saves me money. Going to attach photos any observations and recommendations are welcome.  Also It has been stored inside since I have owned it. (Almost a year). It was stored outside by PO about 5 years.

It appears the PO covered your roof vents for the fridge or Kool O matic.  Do you have a residential fridge in your coach?  The seal on the one cover looks really good

Forgot to mention I installed residential refrigerator. I took off the vent secured plywood in the hole. Glued on FRP board over it, used a notched trowel to apply 3M 4000UV , put the original screws into the original holes. I then sealed edges and screws with the 3M 4000UV. I feel confident that is sealed correctly.

I used "BUS-KOTE" and was very happy with it. I washed and pressure cleaned the roof, let it dry, then applied the product. I used 2 coats. Here is link for direct purchase      RV ROOF COATING | HYTECHSALES.COM

I bought a 5 gallon bucket and had at least a gallon left over after 2 coats. This was on a 36'- 2004 U270

Did you apply it by roller?  Do you have to protect edges?

1- I applied blue painters tape around perimeter
2- I used 2-1/2" brush to cut in around all tight areas such as skylight, a/c units, etc.,
3-  I used a 12" roller on rest of roof.

It was a much easier project than I had envisioned. The paint is very elastic, covers very well.

I will check out Buscote.  What are the best products to use to seal roof protrusions (vents etc) I know Dicor lap sealant is popular. I was thinking 3M 4000uv might have a longer lifespan. I am open to other suggestions. I know there is a wealth of knowledge here. Tom

I've partial to the 3M sealants. They are a few dollars more than DiCor but money well spent IMHO.

see ya

I like 3m products as well. It seems the dicor lap sealant is an industry standard, but I hear people complain that it's not long lasting. Also that it's a pain to remove to replace. I would really like to get some feedback on other products that might be better.
