GV Side radiator removal (U280)

We had a small leak develop on our trip to Wyoming and Montana.  Just a slow drip, we lost about  2 quarts over the 4 weeks and 7,000 miles. While parked in its shed it lost another quart  in the following few  weeks.  I drained the fluid a couple of weeks ago and started the removal process this past weekend. Not a difficult job (had the help of my two sons, 18 & 22) and a Hyd lift table from HF.

We removed the fiberglass panel in front of the CAC and radiator. Removed the CAC and all the air tubing and radiator piping to gain better access to the hyd fan brackets.  We didn't disconnect any of the hyd lines to the fans.

Well done , did mine three years ago was a fun job sure makes a difference with  lift, I was lucky we had a fork lift to do all the heavy lifting .👍😁

Once out could you determine if it was a tube leak, tank gasket, or where the leak was?

Mike,
It wasn't the gasket, looked like a corroded solder point near the bottom of the radiator core at the rear tank. The whole bottom was damp for about 2 inches up from the bottom support channel.

You may just have to have it rodded, cleaned and resoldered. Now it is possible they may have to plug a tube if they can't resolder it to the header if it is not corroded beyond use. I was hoping it was just a tank gasket.

I dropped it off at the shop this afternoon, the repairman (owner) said it may need a new core depending on the amount of corrosion found. They will clean it up and call me in a day or two.

Since we have the sister coach to this one, I'll be watching. 
  I'm focusing on an oil leak right now , I believe it's in the timing case.

Now's the time to have the CAC,cleaned and tested and get all new hoses,try siliconehose.com.
